I moved to Washington in 2003 to complete National Service as an AmeriCorps member. What brought me to Thurston County was the chance for an education using my newly attained education award. I graduated from the Evergreen State College in 2010 and decided I loved this place. I love the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, Capitol State Forest, and everything in between. I think it’s an exciting dynamic to live between the Washington State Capitol and Fort Lewis with so many bright minds and interesting ideas that circulate here because of that. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve grown a lot and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for being here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, I work as a Transportation Specialist for North Thurston Public Schools, member of PSE SEIU Local 1948, as a Stagehand, member of IATSE Local 15, & as an occasional arborist.\u00a0Obviously, because you’re here reading my blog, I’m someone who enjoys reading, researching, thinking, discussing &, of course, writing. More than that, I like working with others towards making the world a better place.
