Fantastic demands, endless fantasies, authoritarian tactics & the violent rhetoric of the transgender cult.
There was a time when I would vocally support trans in their safety against any violent oppression or bigoted hate they might face. There was a time, there is a time right now and there will be a time for the foreseeable future. I am vocally against any violent oppression or bigoted hate they might face for being transgender. Despite this fact, I am targeted by trans activists, called transphobic, doxed, threatened with violence, had my tires slashed, had my work truck burned down and been forcefully ostracized in my community.
The reason? I don’t agree with some of them in their beliefs and movement goals. I say some, because not all trans people and their allies agree on all issues pertaining to trans. Despite this, in the trans activist movement, more than most movements, is dominated by a small group that pushes extreme views, actions and demands obedience. Internal disagreement or debate is not allowed. To question means risking ostracization or worse.
While trans are a small percentage of the population, trans activists are quickly promoted to positions of power in many organizations. This has been the case in the left for a long time, but it’s become true in academia, government and even corporations. Any organization that wants to be seen as progressive and avoid attacks about diversity can hire a trans person or put a trans person on their board to gain immunity. Trans activist interests though can be very narrowly or broadly defined. It can be as narrowly defined as the individual trans person’s personal desires with the interests of broader groups quickly falling off.
I disagree with the imposition of their gender beliefs, replacing sex based rights, on the rest of society. The radical changes they are pushing that rollback the clock on women’s sex based rights. Their denigration of motherhood which demands greater societal support instead. The harm towards LGB acceptance and protections. The undermining of protections for children. The threats to parent rights unraveling trust in public education and CPS. Finally, I am disturbed by the character of this movement and their disreputable tactics.
Where trans need protections, I am supportive. Where trans movement demands go above and beyond the reasonable to the extraordinary and fantastical, I am opposed. Where demands cause harm to others and themselves, I am oppositional. What never changes, even in immense disagreement, even when some of them are targeting me with unconscionable acts, is my support for their human rights, their Constitutional rights, their lawful protections and my support for trans against unfounded fear, bigotry and hate.
My inclusion of the word “unfounded” in the assessment of my support for trans as listed above, is an unfortunate new insertion. The trans movement has embraced an extremist tendency that is vocally advocating, supporting and engaging in threats and violence. Not everyone, although the violent rhetoric is disturbingly pervasive, well accepted already and growing further. Partially because online it disguises itself. A trans woman dressed up in eroticized female stereotypes shooting at a firing range. Or the bright pastel colors of a pink assault rifle waving a trans flag. Or a sign with lots of sparkles that says “decapitate TERFS.” The recent growth in supposedly left wing militias have come to embrace this tendency as well.
Along with all the calls for violence is the increased rhetoric meant to justify it. There are several popular podcasts among younger people that regularly deploy the rhetoric of there being a genocide against trans. This is a step beyond the past rhetoric that equated that the trans movement is the civil rights movement of this generation. The dumbed down violent rhetoric stemming from the leftist edgelords that pushed the “punch a Nazi” rhetoric that people engaged their fantasies on, have inevitably redirected that towards various targets. Including women who disagree with any aspect of the trans movement.
Not only TERFs, who have long been targets, but any women who stands up to trans movement ideology in any way potentially get attacked. The concept that certain, mostly aging, mostly lesbian, women were to be seen as archvillains by trans really started coalescing two decades ago. TERFs are a strange super villain group for the supposed left to create. The reasoning has always been that TERFs somehow cause violence against trans but in two decades I have yet to see one case where that has occurred. I feel like there has to be an example but I haven’t found it. I have seen the opposite over and over though.
It really doesn’t make sense for trans to target TERFs when the violence against trans comes from men. The real reason isn’t therefore about violence, instead there are two reasons. First, TERFs put forward an understanding of sex and gender that doesn’t agree with the gender ideology of trans. This makes them idea competitors. Unfortunately America has become a place where ideas aren’t publicly debated in robust journalism or public forums. Instead, ideas are thrust forward ideologically, backed by money and power. Self described experts are deployed to manufacture consent. The more difficult the idea the more important it is to silence those that are against it. So targeting TERFs is about getting rid of competition rather than competing.
The second reason has to do with feelings. Hiding just under the surface of the trans activist movement is an unconfronted patriarchy, misogyny and sexism. To avoid confronting these issues, as well as other pathologies that many in this group may share, the narcissist high-conflict people of the trans movement find a target of blame for their problems. Who better to blame for all the troubles of trans women than the actual female lesbians that continue to reject them? The intensity that some trans women show towards TERFs seems like a projection of the hatred that some men display after rejection by a love interest. That so many others latched on to this hating of feminists seems like retaliation, in general, from men and also from other women, for their insistence that women still are not equal. In the higher classes, women have come to see their liberation as complete.
Commenting on underlying psychology is something that I have generally refrained from doing because I am not a psychologist. No condemnation coming from the trans movement and plenty pushing for greater attack, I have direct experiences grounded in reality of trans women targeting me. An example, just yesterday I was doxed by a trans activist in DSA. They posted my home address, phone number and birthday online along with the threatening message, “Watch out Bruce… We are coming for you.” Things like this, along with the anonymous nature of the threats I have received, have made me cautious around trans women I don’t know.
More importantly, I believe the women who have also experienced being targeted by the trans movement. These women are ignored, denigrated and silenced while some people who consider themselves progressive/ liberal/ left/ Democrat cheer for their attackers. There are plenty of videos of trans activists surrounding and attacking women who have the audacity to assert their right to disagree with them. After seeing so much of this, I’ve come to understand some women becoming angry and afraid of trans.
